Reuben Stump is a bassist, vocalist, ukulele player and composer from Lansing, MI. Reuben grew up with a love for early jazz and the Great American songbook, which is where the ukulele played a major role in his development as a musician. Since then, Reuben has chosen to pursue the upright bass and has been nurtured by a vibrant music scene as well as a council of distinguished mentors. At his time in college under the guidance of Robert Hurst, Reuben became increasingly exposed to bebop, funk, soul, and many other styles of music. While he gigs around the state of Michigan, Reuben continues to pursue his passion working as a graduate student at Michigan State University under the direction of Rodney Whitaker.
